Independent Kerryn Phelps has almost certainly taken Wentworth from the government.
Independent Kerryn Phelps has ended over a century of Liberal dominance in the Sydney seat of Wentworth, forcing Scott Morrison into minority government, the ABC predicts.
ABC election analyst Antony Green called the win for Dr Phelps at 7.15pm.
With just over nine per cent of the vote counted, Liberal candidate Dave Sharma was on 35.8 per cent of the primary vote to 35.5 per cent for Dr Phelps.
After estimated preferences, Dr Phelps was close to holding 56 per cent of the two-party vote.
