Hawkesbury City FC's senior teams are through to the finals following convincing wins in the final regular season’s matches over the weekend.
The Hawks’ first grade team went into its clash against Bankstown City FC at Bensons Lane with coach Dean Bertenshaw saying the locals were hoping to finish off well at home with a Father’s Day win on Sunday, September 2.
Second spot was on the line for the Hawks and they didn’t disappoint the crowd that turned out for the match, walking away two-nil winners. Goals were scored by D. Morsillo (80) and R. Wilson (90).
The under-20s side finished fourth on the ladder following a three-nil win over Bankstown, with an own goal by the opposition adding to the goals scored by J. Swain and T. Pannowitz.
Meanwhile, two goals by A. Yuletian in the 78th and 84th minutes added to R. Preston’s effort in the 42nd minute to see the under-18s also claim their match three-nil.
The junior sides didn’t fare as well, with the under-13s and under-16s losing to Sydney University and Stanmore respectively on penalties, and the under-14s losing four-two to a strong St George team.
