Local residents have been reminded there is still time to purchase tickets for a sumptuous high tea at Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley to raise funds for NSW Police Legacy.
Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command will participate in next year’s 300km Remembrance Ride from Sydney to Canberra that supports Police Legacy, and the high tea is part of the officers’ bid to raise $10,000 for the cause.
The high tea is set to take place on Friday, September 21 from 1pm to 4pm, and attendees will be greeted by members of the NSW Police mounted unit as well as a display by the highway patrol unit.
The police band will provide entertainment on the day, and speakers including a legatee talking about what Police Legacy has meant to them.
The culinary highlight of the afternoon will be a superb traditional high tea created by the Crowne’s chefs, and there will also be raffles and a silent auction.
NSW Police Legacy provides police families with financial assistance, counselling, aged care programs, scholarships and also assists officers transitioning into civilian life.
Tickets for the event are limited and can be purchased from Windsor police station, or online via EventBrite.
