Richmond Good Food Market is collaborating with local groups to collect donations for drought-affected Hawkesbury farmers this coming weekend.
Richmond Good Food Market manager, Vanessa Hanna, said the market is collaborating with the Hawkesbury Collective, a committee formed by Western Sydney University agriculture students, Graham Williams from Hawkesbury District Drought Relief and the Lions Club of Richmond, to take donations this Saturday, September 1.
“We are inviting everyone to join us at the market at Richmond Park from 8am to 1pm for good food, live music and to offer their support to our Hawkesbury farmers,” Vanessa said in a statement.
“Donation buckets will be available and Graham [Williams] and I look forward to turning those donations into feed, for example, to help the local farmers who are suffering.”
The collection follows a successful drive over the weekend of August 18 and 19 at Hawkesbury Showground by Hawkesbury District Drought Relief that saw thousands of dollars’ worth of feed, groceries and cash delivered to farmers in need across the district.
