With just two weeks of standard competition left, In The Clear NRL Podcast co-hosts Chris Boulous and Matt Lawrence are relishing the prospect of a grandstand finish in determining this year's minor premiers.
While neither of the lads are game to bank on a favourite for the title, they’re sure its going to be one of three: either the chooks, bunnies or storm.
“This week is crucial,” said Boulous. “Realistically, you’d be wanting to win both of these games but anything can happen.
“You’d think the Storm should be certainties this weekend against the Titans, but with players out and Smith carrying an injury, who’s to say.
“The Roosters aren’t going to have it easy with the Broncos, and neither will Souths in Canberra.”
Lawrence said now was the time for the serious title contenders to flex their muscles.
“You don’t want to be going into the finals having posted negative results,” he said.
“Each of the top three have had scratchy weeks and will be looking to make a statement in these last two matches.
“Don’t forget too, there’s a good reason for finishing on top, a home final against the fourth placed finisher.”
Also in this week’s podcast Boulous offers his team of season 2018.
Included in the list are Kalyn Ponga, Josh Addo-Carr, Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Munster.
Be sure to listen in for a few of the surprise bolters to make the cut.
