Hawkesbury Police Area Command (PAC) will host this year’s Retired Police Officer Day, set to take place on Thursday, September 6.
Those attending have the chance to reflect on the passing of retired police officers over the previous year and the opportunity to gain an appreciation of contemporary policing, new police equipment and infrastructure, as well as the chance to interact with current serving police.
Host officer for this year’s event, Superintendent Jim Stewart of Hawkesbury PAC, has asked duty officer, Chief Inspector Garry Sims APM, to co-ordinate activities.
Superintendent Stewart has invited all retired members of the NSW Police Force living in the Hawkesbury, Nepean, and Blue Mountains to attend the event, which begins at 10am.
“Registration is easy. I invite our retired members to contact Chief Inspector Garry Sims by email or telephone and lodge your name. This will assist us with catering purposes,” Superintendent Stewart said.
Chief Inspector Garry Sims can be contacted for registrations on email at sims2gar@police.nsw.gov.au or by calling Windsor Police Station on 4587 4099.
This years’ event will be held at a venue at Richmond, with details being supplied to those attending once their registration is received.
Retired Police Officers Day has been marked since 2012 through commemorative events, providing the chance to recognise the contribution made by retired officers.
