It’s August 1 and as another year ticks over for thoroughbreds around the country, Hawkesbury Race Club CEO Greg Rudolph has expanded on the club’s illustrious past and exciting future in this week’s Gazette podcast.
Arriving into the job as chief executive of arguably Australia’s oldest race club in 2016, Mr Rudolph spoke of the club’s recent successes as well as the contribution it makes to the local economy.
The club is almost a 24 hour operation: as events like weddings and functions end, so the days of the track staff, local trainers and the horses themselves are just beginning.
The club recently completed construction of its new Polytrack surface, and Mr Rudolph explained the benefits to local trainers and the club as well as the purpose that it serves.
The club is due to hold its Members’ Luncheon day tomorrow (Thursday, August 2) and Mr Rudolph also gave the Gazette his own tip for those planning to have a flutter.
