HAWKESBURY Race Club will offer increased prize money for races at its track from September 1.
Racing NSW has announced prize money increased across the board from September 1, a move Hawkesbury Race Club chief executive Greg Rudolph has welcomed.
“For some time now, the Provincial Race Clubs have been working with Racing NSW on the implementation of prizemoney increases,” he said.
“It is pleasing that, not only will our standard Provincial prizemoney increase to $35,000, but the distribution of prizemoney will provide extra incentive to unplaced runners and connections. The Provincial club’s are very supportive of this rationale and it should be welcomed by all.”
Rudolph said there was a bright future ahead for the club, and the addition of extra prize money added to that.
“With the club currently embarking on the addition of on-course stabling and further facility upgrades in addition to our completed Polytrack, we are in a sound position to enhance the benefits to our existing stakeholders, whilst potentially attracting new investment into racing and into the region as well,” he said.
“It is an exciting era for the NSW Racing Industry as a whole and in the development of Hawkesbury Race Club.”
Rudolph said the club’s listed races would also benefit.
“An additional feature of the prizemoney announcement, will be higher stakes for our Group and Listed Races, commencing in the Spring,” he said.
“As a result, next year’s Stand Alone Saturday will have record prizemoney, which is a further incentive for our horses to target at the end of the Autumn.”
