The NSW Police dog unit was called to Bligh Park to search for an alleged drunk driver who led officers on a pursuit.
Officers were patrolling near the intersection of Hawkesbury Valley Way and Percival Street shortly after 8pm on Wednesday, July 18 when they spotted a Holden Ute allegedly travelling at speed, a police statement said.
“A pursuit was commenced when the driver allegedly failed to stop and went through Londonderry, Llandlilo and Shanes Park, where the pursuit was terminated,” police stated.
“A short-time later, the vehicle was located in Peter Street, Bligh Park.
“Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command, with assistance from the Dog Unit, conducted an extensive search of the area and located two men, aged 23 and 20.
“The men were arrested and taken to Windsor police station.”
A 23-year-old man has been charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, and mid-range PCA.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Windsor Local Court on August 9.
A 20-year-old man was released pending further investigations, police stated.
