THE Newcastle Hunters had a close win over Hawkesbury Basketball Association’s youth representative team in front of the home crowd at the Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium on Saturday night.
The Hunters prevailed 81-68 over the Hawkesbury Jets in the Basketball NSW Waratah league game which began at 6pm.
The youth 2 mens result saw James Eggins and Zabian Mamo tie for the top score in the match for the Jets.
The pair both scored 14-points in the match.
Mamo hit a three-pointer, made three baskets and hit five free throws, while Eggins made four three-pointers and one basket in the match.
Warren Kahuroa was second in team scoring with 11-points through four baskets and three free-throws made.
The end of the season is drawing closer for the Jets, with only three games remaining. The Jets have six wins so far this season.
In round 18, the Jets will take on the Blacktown Storm at the Kevin Betts Basketball Stadium
