HAWKESBURY City Football Club had a ‘good away result’ according to coach Dean Bertenshaw after securing a draw against finals contenders in the Southern District Raiders.
The nil all contest on Saturday night saw both teams pick up a point, but it was nonetheless a good effort from the City team said Bertenshaw.
“It was a good away result. They were pretty much undefeated at home. They've scored a ridiculous number of home goals and we kept them to nil,” he said.
“The whole defensive end did well. Kyle Walker and James Purtell the two stoppers were excellent and midfielder James Mawein was good too.”
City fell five points behind first-placed St George on the ladder, but remains in third position after the draw.
Bertenshaw added that the club has five of the remaining seven games at home to finish the season.
The round 20 match will see City host Sydney University at Bensons Lane on Saturday night.
