The Queen Victoria Market has joined internationally renown markets to form a global alliance.
Two of Australia's iconic markets have joined internationally renown markets in London, Europe and the US to form a global alliance.
Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market and Sydney's Fish Markets will join with London's Borough Market, Barcelona's La Boqueria, Berlin's Markthalle Neun, Seattle's Pike Place Market and the Central Market Hall in Budapest to form the "Magnificent Seven", chief executive of Queen Victoria Market Stan Liacos said in a statement on Monday.
"All of the M7 markets are known for the outstanding quality of their food, the iconic nature of their locations and the important role they play in their cities," Mr Liacos said.
