AIRCRAFT fans will be able to catch up to six C-130J Hercules transport aircraft in the sky over RAAF Base Richmond on Thursday, July 12.
Formation training will be occurring over the base between 10am and 12pm in preparation for a flyover on Friday, July 13 in celebration of Air Force No. 37 Squadron’s 75th anniversary.
The official flyover on Friday will begin at Richmond at midday, and the aircraft will fly over Sydney Harbour, Western Sydney and RAAF Base Glenbrook, before returning to overfly RAAF Base Richmond around 1.25pm.
Defence advises activity on both days is subject to variables including weather, air traffic control, and operational availability, and may be subject to cancellation at short notice.
The formation flight on Friday is No. 37 Squadron’s opportunity to say “Thank you,” to the wider Sydney community for its continued support of personnel and their families throughout its history.
