A man has been taken to hospital for observation after his car crashed into the Hawkesbury River at Pitt Town.

Emergency services arrived at Punt Road about 5.30pm on June 27 in response to a call that a car had crashed into the river and began sinking.
A local resident that had been travelling behind the vehicle was quickly on the scene and was able to pull the man to safety.
He was located by the side of the river by NSW Ambulance paramedics and was assessed before being taken to hospital for observation.
Further comment was being sought from Hawkesbury police.
