HAWKESBURY Council has not decided upon a site for the proposed Police Citizens Youth Club.
The state government has set aside $13 million for a PCYC to be established somewhere in the Hawkesbury on Council land.
The Gazette asked Hawkesbury Council whether it had found a site yet, and this was the response we received.
“Council has been in regular contact with Police and Community Youth Club NSW regarding the proposal to construct a Police Community Youth Centre,” said Council’s Joseph Letwin, the executive manager of community partnerships.
“A confidential report outlining the Police and Community Youth Club NSW partnership proposal was considered by Council at its Meeting of 8 May 2018 and Council resolved to investigate the feasibility of constructing and operating a Police Community Youth Centre on Council owned land in one of our town centres.
“Council will shortly be meeting with representatives of Police and Community Youth Club NSW to inspect a site for the location.”
