The state government has started planning for a new primary school at Marsden Park, with funding allocated in the NSW 2018-19 Budget.
The government has announced a number of new schools across the state, including one at the rapidly expanding Marsden Park.
A new primary school at Schofields called the Alex Avenue Primary school is alreayd underway, as is the planned move of the Hurlstone Agricultural School to the Western Sydney university campus at Richmond.
Planned upgrades for Richmond High School, Riverstone High School and Schofields Public School have also recieved funding.
One of the major announcements the government is trumpeting is universal placement for pre-schoolers aged three.
The government plans to spend $197.8 million in total to give 'universal access', which according to Early Childhood Minister Sarah Mitchell, will see significant savings for parents putting their children into childcare.
The state government has also announced a Cooling for Schools program, to install air conditioning in a number of classrooms across the state.
The government will spend $500 million on the project over five years installing the air conditioning units to stop intense heat disrupting classes.
The government also plans to hire an extra 900 teachers for public schools.
