HAWKESBURY City Junior Rugby League club hosted its Back to Hawkesbury Day at the club’s Turnbull Oval base on Sunday afternoon.
On a windy day, but one with clear skies and a full crowd at North Richmond.
Club secretary Linda Allen said it was just an enjoyable day spent watching club juniors and seniors in action.
“This is an annual event that unites present and past players along with Life Members to celebrate the history of our wonderful club,” she said.
Allen said the club put on some entertainment for the families, alongside the football.
“It was a great day had by all with jumping castles and ball tossing for the children and a day made extra special this year with our Under 16’s, C-Grade and A- Grade sides proudly battling it out,” she said.
Allen added the players wore special jerseys for the day.
“The players were wearing jerseys replicating one of the very first jerseys ever worn by our club,” she said.
