HAWKESBURY Council has outlined a number of works across the district it intends to do with the money raised from its Special Rate Variation.
The region’s rates will go up after Council approved its 2018-19 operating plan on June 13.
Council has been at pains to show the organisation intends to seal roads, create new foot paths and do many other things with the extra revenue it will receive because of the above rate pegging rise.
Leading the list is $2.9 million slated to be spent on roads, as shown in Council’s plan of works for the 2018-19 years (link is a pdf which is 1.23 megabytes).
In the 2018-19 operational plan (link is a pdf which is 12.3 megabytes), Council has listed road resealing at St Albans Village Road (value of $420,000) and Fairey Road in South Windsor (value of $180,000) as some of the works that will be paid for by the extra revenue.
However, at the June 13, deputy Mayor Barry Calvert asked that the resealing priority list be revisited, and those items could change.
Meanwhile, Council plans to ‘rehabilitate’ parts of Spinks Road at Glossodia and North Richmond, parts of Grose Vale Road at Grose Vale and Grose Wold, King Road at Wilberforce, Tennyson Road at Tennyson, Greggs Road at Kurrajong and McGrath Road at McGraths Hill thanks to the extra funds raised.
Similarly, a number of footpaths are also planned for the coming year paid for by the extra revenue.
