From July 2, Hawkesbury commuters will pay more for New South Wales public transport, with Opal Fares to increase by 2.2 per cent.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance said the average fare increase will be 39 cents a week.
However, gold Opal cards for pensioners and seniors remain unchanged at $2.50 for all day travel, any day of the week.
Mr Constance also said the NSW government is focused on maintaining downward pressure on living costs and therefore, did not introduce the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal’s recommended annual increase of 4.2 per cent.
