HAWKESBURY City Netball Association’s top metro league team has lost its first match of the season, after going down to Hills District by seven goals on Monday night.
The girls had won their first eight games straight, but couldn’t top the Hills in the 45-38 loss.
The Hills are Hawkesbury’s nearest competitor, with both teams now boasting an 8-1 record nine games in to the fourth division season. Hawkesbury remains on top of the ladder, with the Hills trailing.
In the sixth division, Hawkesbury was defeated by Illawarra District last Tuesday, and last night, after the Gazette’s deadline, the team played the Blue Mountains.
Huxley rolls on
In the local A Grade competition, Huxley remains undefeated through eight rounds of competition. The team topped Pitt Town-Oakville 51-26 on Saturday.
Second-placed Macquarie Black had a big 64-37 win over Green Hills for the team’s sixth of the season.
Third-placed Colo White won the team’s fifth game with a 59-24 victory over Riverstone.
Fourth-placed Poppets Blue defeated Macquarie Green, while Poppets Pink lost to Colo Black, while there was a draw in the match between Colo Pink and Londonderry.
