WINDSOR Wolves junior Reagan Campbell-Gillard has been selected to play for New South Wales in the State of Origin opener next week.
Campbell-Gillard was one of a number of new faces selected in new coach Brad Fittler’s first team.
Campbell-Gillard made his thoughts on selection perfectly clear at NSWRL’s True Blues ball at The Star.
“If we’re kicking off or if I’m receiving, that’s one thing I’ll try to get my head around,” Campbell-Gillard said.
“Hopefully they kick it my way and I can start the game from there. I’m just excited to be here.”
The Penrith Panthers prop made his Australian debut at the end of last season, after a stellar year with the Panthers.
So far in 2018, things have picked up where they left off for Campbell-Gillard.
The Panthers have now moved to the top of the table after defeating the St George-Illawarra Dragons at the weekend.
The Dragons had owned the top spot for a number of weeks, with the Panthers trailing, however, the Panthers blew the Dragons off the park in front of a crowd of over 21,000 at Pepper Stadium on Saturday night.
Campbell-Gillard scored a try in the closing minutes to cap the 28-2 victory, in a match where the Panthers forward dominated the Dragons.
The first State of Origin match will be played on Wednesday, June 6 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
