Hazard reduction burn to take place this weekend
Hawkesbury residents have been warned of smokey conditions with a hazard reduction burn scheduled to take place this coming weekend.
Hawkesbury District Rural Fire Service (RFS) has advised the burn will take place on Saturday, May 26 at Colo Heights.
”This weekend's hazard reduction burn will involve more than 200 firefighters and will treat approximately 2,000 hectares of bushland,” it stated.
“Please exercise caution in the area, remembering smoke may impact roads in the area at various times.”
Residents have been advised to only contact Triple Zero (000) if they see any unattended fire, not just because they can see or smell smoke.
