An elderly woman has been transported to hospital by helicopter after being hit by a vehicle at Bowen Mountain this morning (Thursday).

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle on Lieutenant Bowen Drive were received about 8.30am.

The ambulance helicopter was later called to the scene, landing in nearby Bowen Mountain Road.

“A 70-year-old female was suffering facial, arm and wrist and hip injuries,” she said. “She was transported in a stable condition to Westmead Hospital via helicopter.”
