There were plenty of good reasons to celebrate when Kurrajong CWA members marked the 90th birthday of the branch earlier this month.
Some 77 members and friends gathered at Richmond Golf Club to eat lunch and share stories of the club’s impressive record of achievements and fundraising over the years.
Special guests included CWA state vice-president Annie Kiefer, Hawkesbury Mayor Mary Lyons-Bucket, Federal Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman and Councillor Robyn Preston representing Hawkesbury MP Dominic Perrottet.
Kurrajong branch president, and life member, Wendy Dunston accepted the certificate representing 90 years of community service from Ms Templeman.
Long service awards were made to members Eileen Reid, Marie Nixon and Joan Fraser.
As befitting a CWA function, the birthday cake, which was described as “a masterpiece” was made by branch member Kay Quinton.
