THE Nor-West Jets secured their fifth win in a row at the weekend, as the club took down the Wollondilly Knights, and have now drawn level with the top placed team on the ladder after the win.
The Jets triumphed 13.10-88 to 4.7-31 against the Knights in the round six match of the AFL Sydney’s division one competition on Saturday afternoon.
The first quarter saw the two teams evenly matched, with the Jets kicking two goals to the Knights’ one.
The second quarter, however, saw the Jets kick away, booting four goals to nil over the Knights.
The second half saw the Jets keep their stronghold on the game. The team kicked four goals to two in the third, and then in the final term four goals to one to secure the victory.
Taffy Lewis was the leading goal kicker for the Jets, booting three during the game.
Ethan Coombs and Luke Hodges also kicked two goals apiece during the match.
The win has seen the Jets draw level with Sydney University on top of the ladder.
The two teams have lost one game each, although Sydney University has a better percentage.
This weekend there is a bye.
The following week in round 7, the Jets will take on the Randwick City Saints at Bensons Lane on Saturday at 2pm.
