Traffic changes are due to come into force in Schofields today (Friday) as work continues on the $140 million upgrade of Schofields Road.
Traffic will be moved onto newly built sections of Schofields Road between Richmond and Veron Roads from 5am today, April 27, weather permitting, Riverstone MP Kevin Conolly announced.
“The NSW Government is progressively upgrading Schofields Road to four lanes between Windsor and Richmond roads to improve capacity along this key east-west corridor in the North West Priority Land Release Area,” Mr Conolly said in a statement.
“New traffic lights will also be switched on at the intersections of Fermoy Road and Carnarvon Road.”
To ensure the safety of workers and all road users, a temporary detour will be place while work is carried out, with access maintained for local people. Motorists will be detoured via Garfield Road West, Grange Avenue and Townson Road.
Night work will also take place between Tallawong Road and Veron Road to April 30 to complete final asphalting and line marking.
Night and after hours work between Richmond Road and Veron Road will continue until May 18, weather permitting.
More information about the project is available by logging onto www.rms.nsw.gov.au, Mr Conolly said in the statement.
