The Sydney Roosters showed their premiership intentions on Friday night. The Roosters recorded a 30-12 victory over the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium. After their shock round one loss, the Roosters proved far too strong for the Bulldogs. The result marked the first win in tri-colours for high-profile Roosters recruits James Tedesco and Cooper Cronk. Tedesco and Cronk also both scored their first try for the Roosters on Friday night. However, it was a costly win for Sydney with two key players suffering injuries. Winger Daniel Tupou suffered a pectoral injury, while utility Mitch Aubosson required 12 stitches due to a head clash. Sydney Roosters 30 (Luke Keary, Blake Ferguson, James Tedesco, Cooper Cronk, Ryan Matterson tries; Latrell Mitchell 5 goals) defeated Canterbury Bulldogs 12 (Josh Morris, Josh Jackson tries; Moses Mbye 2 goals) at Allianz Stadium. Referees: Gerard Sutton, Chris Butler. Crowd: 12,226.
