The Burnie Magistrates Court on Tuesday will consider an application to stop former Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie’s book from being published.
Her former senior adviser, Rob Messenger, has applied to halt the release of the book.
Mr Messenger was contracted by Ms Lambie to ghost-write her autobiography but this was scuttled when the professional and personal relationship between the two deteriorated.
He and his wife Fern were sacked by Ms Lambie by letter and email last May.
Mr Messenger is pursuing a third and final payment of $4000 from his former boss for the completed manuscript.

In seeking an injunction, Mr Messenger has argued that the premature publishing of Ms Lambie’s book may be in contempt of court.
He said there was an argument as to whether the book contained work and intellectual property from his manuscript.
The 86,000 manuscript might be admitted as evidence in a future trial which means it could be made public.
Jacqui Lambie is due to release her own book, Rebel With A Cause, through Allen and Unwin soon.
Mr Messenger is also pursuing an unfair dismissal claim against her in the Federal Court.
