HAWKESBURY residents were hit with strong winds and a bit of rain on the evening of January 9, but afterwards were treated to a spectacular rainbow and sky which appeared red or orange.
A four-day-long heat wave was broken on Tuesday evening with a thunderstorm.
The Bureau of Meteorology did issue a severe thunderstorm warning for Sydney, including the Hawkesbury, warning of potential large hail stones.
It seems the Hawkesbury escaped the hail stones, but there were certainly strong winds and rain in some parts of the electorate.
Thunder and lightning was around as well during the evening too.
When the storm finished, however, the sky became an eerie red and orange colour, and a very strong rainbow appeared over the Hawkesbury as well, delighting many residents.
