Following their participation in the Australasian Rescue Challenge in New Zealand earlier this year, Hawkesbury SES has hosted a state wide road crash rescue training day over the weekend.
NSW SES volunteers from across NSW converged on the Hawkesbury on Saturday, October 7, to participate in the training and learn some of the skills that were passed on to our local troops at the Australasian Challenge.
In 2016 and again this year, Hawkesbury volunteers participated in the rescue challenge in New Zealand, a four day event of competition stands and learning symposiums where rescue agencies from Australia, Hong Kong and NZ come together to learn and share their skills.
“On Saturday the Hawkesbury volunteers were able to pass on the skills and techniques they learnt at these challenges to fellow volunteers from across the state,” Hawkesbury SES posted on their Facebook.
“This day enabled many units from rural NSW to learn and experience new road crash rescue techniques from throughout the Australasia region.”
