A FORMER Windsor High School student and Airlite and Bunnings employee has been part of the fabric of Hawkesbury life for more than 50 years. Now his friends are asking his community to give him a little leg up.
Bill Slee’s health problems have meant he’s had to move to Penrith to be closer to Nepean Hospital for treatment and his ongoing medical costs are crippling as he had to leave his job due to illness. His mate Dave Wilkins of Hawkesbury Hotel has stepped up to the plate and organised a cracker afternoon’s entertainment at the pub at Windsor to raise funds.
This Sunday, May 21 there will be live music all day from midday. Kick back with lunch and a beer to Our Teal Blu, Woodford and sensational Charlie A’Court.
Bill is a mad keen Wests Tigers supporter, so it’s an NRL theme with a prize for best dressed. It’s all free, with fundraising coming from meat trays, a massive mega raffle, and donation buckets.
Prizes include an original Bob Gammage painting, two Sydney Blues Festival VIP passes, two Paddlewheeler lunch cruises, golf for four at Windsor Golf Club, and vouchers from Tyrerite, Windsor Seafoods, South Windsor Butchery, Messina’s Pizza and more.
