New online service to access The Hills library resources

PEOPLE can now read and order books from The Hills libraries via a new system.

The Hills Council recently launched Spydus, which is a system that puts library digital resources in one place.

Library members will be able to use a new website that gives them the option to read electronic books or magazines, or order a book and receive a notification when it is ready to be collected.

The Hills mayor Yvonne Keane said library users now have a digital one-stop destination for resources.

“The new system has increased functionality such as the ability to request items across our four library branches along with the integration of eResources, making it even easier to borrow digital items such as eBooks, audio books and popular magazines,” Cr Keane said.

“I’m proud of the many improvements we have already made across our four branches.

“All of these improvements represent a great leap forward in terms of the services we now provide in our community.”

Cr Keane congratulated library staff for being awarded the $75,000 grant from the state government and Library Council of NSW.

“We also matched the funding to allow this new system to reach its full potential and provide our residents with a stellar service,” she said.
