A group of eight local mates will take on the trip of a lifetime in four rundown cars to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation next week.
The Banger Bash charity rally will leave Windsor on May 1 and will finish in Alice Springs on May 8, stopping along the way to raise funds for the foundation. A cause close to their hearts.
The members of the rally and their cars include; Reece Giles and Daniel Martin in Blues Brothers car, Wayne Stokes and Mitch Spiteri in General Lee, Stephen Tidswell and Peter Thomson in Cammodore and, Rodney Tisdell and Luke Tisdell in Bumble Bee.
Each of the cars were purchased for under $1000 and will trek more kilometers than they’re worth via Lake Eyre, Uluru and Lamberts Corner.
The team are having a BBQ and meat raffle at the Windsor Leagues Club on Sunday, April 30 to raise funds before they head off on the trek the next day, and invite Hawkesbury residents to come along and show their support.
They also have a Go Fund Me page set up for people to donate to at https://www.gofundme.com/atjfh-banger-bash. All money raised goes straight to the Leukaemia Foundation.
