A STUDENT, the principal, a teacher and a community member all had their heads shaved at a special assembly at Grose View Public School for the World’s Greatest Shave.
Together, they raised $1000 for the Leukaemia Foundation, which supports people with blood cancer.
Ten year old Bert bravely had his head shaved first, followed by principal Damien Feneley, teacher Matt Chenery, and then Deb Murray - who represented the folks at Curves Gym in North Richmond.
“I shaved for a cure years ago but Dione [from Sparkle Hair Studio] challenged me to shave this time. I started growing my hair in July last year,” said Ms Murray.
Dione Beddoes, owner of Sparkle Hair Studio in North Richmond, provided her services free-of-charge to do the shaving.
