THIS year’s Colo Family Picnic Day will be bigger and better than ever as it celebrates 20 years of fun for the entire family.
Add Sunday, April 9 to your calendar, and head on down to Colo River Park (under the Colo River Bridge) for a huge day of games, competitions, food, and fun with the greater Colo community.
Bring your picnic gear - food, chairs, hats, etc - and stake your claim on the lawn. The park will be an alcohol-free zone before 1pm, and hot food and drinks will be available for purchase.
The day will include a cake bake-off, tug-o-war, ‘Throw The Flabbit’ competition, wheelbarrow races (bring your own wheelbarrow), an orange race, egg and spoon races, three-legged races, sack races, horse shoe throwing, a busking competition, and ‘Guess the Jelly Beans’ contest.
Each competition has different age, size and gender sections to make it fairer for the punters, and over 140 medals will be awarded on the day.
There will also be a raffle and a variety of stalls and displays by local people and organisations.
The event will kick-off at 9.30am, after the Windsor RSL’s pre-Anzac day service which will take place in the park from 9am.
Wet weather won’t stop the day - unless there is a flood. No cars are allowed in the park after 9am, and the event has a ‘no pets’ policy.
