RICHMOND Rotary bestowed Junior Citizenship awards on 46 children from 23 primary schools on November 23.
The awards, presented at the 34th Annual Junior Citizenship ceremony at the Hawkesbury Race Club, recognised the children’s contributions to their schools and community.
A Richmond Rotary Club spokesman said the qualities recognised were mateship, team spirit, initiative, leadership, co-operation, caring for others and trust.
Club president Rod Rose, the master of ceremonies, John Baker, and the youth service director, Geoff Nash, presented the awards before a crowd of 350.
Each child received a framed certificate and commomorative plaque.
The ceremony closed with Bilpin Public School principal Melanie Mackie thanking Rotary on behalf of all the schools, the children’s parents and friends.
