Hawkesbury councillors Mary Lyons-Buckett, Christine Paine and Leigh Williams have called for an extraordinary meeting in light of statements made at current hearings being undertaken by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
The notice of motion was called following the allegation that executives of Buildev made $18,000 worth of donations to Londonderry MP Bart Bassett in 2010.
The meeting is expected to call for a report into options available to Council in regards to processing development applications and other applications associated with the North Richmond rezoning, until ICAC’s Operation Spicer investigation is complete.
Under Council’s Code of Meeting Practice, Mayor Kim Ford is required to call a meeting within 14 days of the request, which was made on Friday, August 29.
A date is yet to be announced.
