Police seize $575,500 of cannabis plants in North Rocks

A 23-year-old man has been charged after cannabis plants valued at more than $500,000 were seized during a raid in North Rocks yesterday morning.

Police attended a home on New North Rocks Road about 8pm yesterday (August 12) where they allegedly seized hydroponic growing equipment and 115 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of $575,000.

A man was arrested at the house and taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he was charged with cultivation of cannabis commercial indoor enhanced.

He was bail refused to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

■ Operation Tassie, of which this raid was part, was formed by officers from North West Region Enforcement Squad to investigate the cultivation of cannabis in the North West Region.
