Castle Hill BMX Club's new world champion

Castle Hill BMX Club is home to a world champion after Aston Wypych-Coles won the under-12 boys Cruiser title.

Riders from the BMX club flew around the world to compete in the UCI BMX World Championships in Rotterdam, The Netherlands on July 23-27.

Wypych-Coles lead the grand final from start to finish to win the title in dominant style.

Wypych-Coles was also a finalist in the under-12 boys BMX race, finishing fourth in that event to complete a strong championships.

Paige Harding came seventh in the under-11 girls race receiving a World plate.

Ashlee Miller went into the event with high hopes and reached the quarter-final but unfortunately came unstuck after her foot slipped from the pedal clip at the start of the race.

All riders who reach a final are awarded with a World plate to commemorate their result.
