VIDEO: Hillsong delegates break singing world record

Seven Hills community radio station Hope 103.2 has set a world record — for most people singing on a live radio broadcast.

The 4000 singers were delegates at Hillsong’s Young and Free conference in Sydney Olympic Park on July 3.

They sang Young and Free’s hit song Alive acapella for Hope 103.2’s Breakfast Team Aaron Wright and Dan Widdowson, who were decked out in their Hope 103.2 Purple Onesies.

Together they broke a record set nearly three years to the day — July 8, 2011 — by 3885 people from UK’s The Biggest Band at Wembley Arena, London.

‘‘It was an amazing experience to see so many young people singing their hearts out, and awesome to hear that broadcast live on the air,’’  Dan Widdowson, said.

The Young and Free Conference is one of Australia’s largest annual conferences and attracts about 40,000 delegates every year.
