Armed robbery of pizza delivery driver

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver in Whalan .

A 20-year-old man drove to Lae Place at Whalan to deliver a pizza just before 10.30pm on Sunday, July 6. 

Police said while he was sitting in his vehicle a man approached him saying that he had ordered the pizza but he had dropped his money on the grass.

When the driver got out of the car to help him search for it, he was confronted by a group of five men.

One of the men struck him with a tree branch while another threatened him with a knife and demanded money.

They fled with his bag, containing cash, and the pizzas.

Police are investigating the incident.

All five men are described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance.
