Hills community donates 38 trolleys of items

The Hills District Annual Anglicare food drive was again a huge success.

Kellyville, Glenhaven, Dural and Kenthurst Anglican churches have thanked the community for their generosity during the food drive on the weekend of June 12-14.

Senior minister Adam Lamb said 38 trolleys full of donated food and personal care items  were donated by the community at Kellyville Woolworths to support Anglicare’s emergency food relief services.

‘‘The Kellyville community showed a genuine concern for the growing number of people needing support to put food on their table,’’ Mr Lamb said.

‘‘The drive brought the community and our church together to make a difference to those in need.’’

He also thanked the schools.

‘‘Every school in our area really gets behind this initiative and the children remind parents constantly, ‘I need some cans for the food drive’,’’ he said.
