Kids need help

Barnardos has joined the Association of Children's Welfare Agencies' Fostering NSW and other agencies in a call for foster carers.

Association chief executive Andrew McCallum said foster carers are from all walks of life. They include single people, empty nesters, straight and same-sex couples, older and younger people, and people from many cultural and religious backgrounds.

Barnardos needs foster carers in the Penrith, Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains region to care for children under six.

There is an urgent need across NSW to find homes for teens, primary school-aged sibling groups and children with disabilities.
