Country music fans will slap their knees with delight when the district’s biggest showcase and awards night electrifies Windsor this Saturday night, May 31.
The 10th Country Showcase and Maureen Wagner Memorial Awards will be bringing nationally recognised country musicians to the region.
Founder of the awards, Don Wagner said the awards ceremony was organised originally at the Windsor Function Centre in memory of his late wife Maureen.
‘‘This is the 10th year of the wonderful showcase,’’ Mr Wagner said.
‘‘It has always been done in Windsor except for a couple of years where it was hosted on the coast, but now it is back in Windsor to stay.
‘‘It is a great way to remember my wife and her love for country music,’’ he said.
Families can settle in for a cracking three-hour show featuring the performance by four-time Golden Guitar winner, Felicity Urquhart.
There will also be the very talented Windsor High student Hayley Langley and many more well-known acts.
‘‘It’s a full family night out,’’ Mr Wagner said.
There will also be raffles and lucky door prizes to be won.
Funds made on the night will be donated to Kurrajong Fire Brigade.
The awards ceremony will be held at Windsor RSL Club from 8pm.
Tickets are $30.
