Man to face court over Mount Druitt armed robbery

A 26-year-old man has been charged in relation to the armed robbery of a convenience store in Dawson Mall outside Mount Druitt Railway Station last week. 

About 12.40am on May 23, police said a man from Lethbridge Park,  allegedly armed with a glass bottle, threatened a male employee and demanded cash. 

A male customer who pushed the alleged offender outside the 7-Eleven,   was struck with the bottle, causing cuts to his wrist, which were treated at the scene by paramedics.

About 4.45pm on Tuesday, May 27, police located the  alleged offender in a unit on Bougainville Road,  Lethbridge Park.

He was taken to Mt Druitt police station and charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and assault with intent to rob.

He was refused bail and will appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday, May 28).
