A 50th BIRTHDAY is always something special and even more so when it’s a car.
The Mustang has been one of the most successful automobiles ever produced and it’s showing no sign of slowing down.
The Mustang Owners Club of Australia, NSW Branch is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with a gathering this Sunday, May 18, representing nearly every model manufactured from one of the first 1964 models to the latest retro styled sports car.
The Vineyard Hotel on the corner of Windsor and Boundary Road, Vineyard has hosted the anniversary celebrations since the 30th birthday in 1994, and that is not about to change.
David Livian, president of the MOCA NSW said Vineyard Hotel, previously known as the Tourmaline Hotel, has been an excellent venue for staging this event for many years.
‘‘With their support, and sponsors such a Shannons Insurance we can put on a display of over 100 Mustangs with a real party atmosphere,’’ he said.
‘‘There will be a jumping castle, bungee run and music, as well as a many trophies chosen by the manager on the day.
‘‘It’s a family orientated club and the public are welcome.
‘‘Naturally for the 50th there will be a special cake, so come and enjoy”.
All Mustangs are welcome and entry is free. The first 100 Mustang drivers will receive a voucher towards lunch at the scrumptious Billy’s Bistro inside the hotel.
Gates open at 9am with the presentation held at 3pm.
