Man caught stealing Anzac wreaths

A man has been charged with stealing ANZAC day wreaths from a war memorial at Riverstone.

Witnesses called police when they saw the 25-year-old Cranebrook man loading flowers and wreaths onto a trolley at Railway Parade memorial on Saturday morning.

The man was charged with stealing and faced Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.

He will also face a charge for failure to pay a taxi fare.

The wreaths and flowers have been returned to the war memorial.
