A fire which extensively damaged a takeaway food shop in Riverstone early on Sunday morning is being treated as suspicious.

Fire and Rescue NSW units were called to the Garfield Road East business at about 12.45am and worked till about 2.30am to extinguish the blaze, which engulfed the shop.
Damage to the premises is estimated to be in excess of $100,000.
Quakers Hill Local Area Command investigations suggest the premises may have been broken into before the fire began.
