International Women's Day: Hills women should celebrate

Saturday is International Women's Day and women in The Hills are invited to celebrate.

The Hills Council will host Unity in Diversity at The Hills Lodge Hotel tomorrow, Thursday.

It's free and runs 9.30am to 1.30pm with entertainment and a light lunch. A gold coin donation is encouraged.

Details: The Hills Lodge, 1 Salisbury Road, Castle Hill, Carmen Lalehzari, 0421 079 600.

Then on Friday, Natalie Moutia from Success Women's Network will hold a lunch at Northmead Bowling Club, noon to 2pm.

Guest speaker will be Belinda Dolan, owner of Success Women's Network Queensland and Business Success Associates.

Ms Moutia started The Hills' only women's networking group, Success Women's Network, to connect with local business people.

"We started with volunteers helping to run networking events and averaged around 100 women at each event," she said. "I never thought I'd be running this business full-time.

"Women network differently to men — our main focus is on building relationships and offering support.

"For many women, starting your own business is daunting and it takes courage and self-belief."

Details: 166 Windsor Road, Northmead. Cost: $60 for non-SWN members. Register:
