GET out your sequinned gear, dust off your faux fur and release you inner diva as the Damn Good Divas come to town.

The two-hour show will take to the Rooty Hill RSL Club stage on February 15, paying tribute to eight divas: Barbra Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Liza Minnelli, Aretha Franklin, Shirley Bassey, Diana Ross, Cher and Bette Midler.

Co-producer, writer and actor Monique Montez said the show will have something to suit most tastes.

"The great point of it is we're celebrating all the divas," she said. "It's hit after hit after hit.

"I always say the show will bring back three things — a moment, a memory and an experience."

In the show, Montez plays Minnelli, Bassey, Ross and Cher.

To perfect her characters she's done a lot of research.

"I've been watching a lot of material on all the divas to watch their mannerisms to see how they laughed and talked and placed their voices."

Montez isn't shy of the limelight. She has snagged roles in national and international musicals, including We Will Rock You, Fiddler on the Roof and Dusty, the Original Pop Diva.

She also won Best Female Vocalist at the 12th ACE Awards and received a Helpmann Award nomination for her portrayal of Annette in Saturday Night Fever.

There have been many memorable moments throughout her career but two stand out: "One of the best moments for me was starring in We Will Rock You. I got to meet and work with Brian Cadd from Queen and I have to say that was pretty cool.

"Another amazing moment was singing in Hollywood and cutting the ribbon to launch Sir Richard Branson's airline to Australia. I was singing to all the girls from Sex and the City, Sylvester Stallone and Morgan Freeman."

Tickets: $30 (adults), $15 (children).
